Parts and pieces of my e-mails

Could the Fiscal Cliff (which we just went over in the middle of the night as we blearily cheered and groped our way into 2013) actually end in a pot of gold?
What?
What is that I hear?
Could it be my broker sighing "Oh no here he goes again about gold and silver." (Yes Fred, you can skip this section).
America will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money - Alexis de Tocqueville
Damn, ole Alex was really prescient in many ways. What he's saying is that the public's money is essentially the money that is printed by the Fed and spent by the Government, leaving the debt burden with the taxpayers. What makes this "theft" more insidious is that fact that money printing causes an invisible devaluation of the dollar.
Don't go to sleep yet because here is where it gets interesting...
As of December 31, 2012, the US dollar has lost 82.5% of its value vs. gold. On December 30, 1999, gold closed at $290.25 an ounce. On December 31, 2012, it took $1,664 to buy an ounce of gold. That's an 82.5% decline in the value of the dollar vs. gold. If you are wondering why something so outrageous could possibly be true, all you need to do is look at the growth in the money supply since the start of the new century.
My question is this... did the investments you made 12 years ago increase in value by 80%+?  Now that Obama has the Congress in his pocket, with the Tea Party out to lunch and Chicken Little in charge of the Debt Ceiling the money supply will continue to drive the above graphic off the chart, possibly leading to another 82% increase (or more) in precious metals over the next few years.
HaHaHoHo Oh No!
I often wonder if it was a mistake moving back to California.

Cliffs, cracks and crud
A PERFECT WORLD...

We have become a nation of dullards and blamers and victims and smug sanctimonious jerks who would rather reduce our neighbor than improve ourselves. We are not humbled by our errors; they simply harden our bias and justify our prejudice. We gloat in victory, sucker punch in defeat. With each tragedy, we announce our ignorance and repeat our superstitions.

Liberty’s first virtue is its practicality. Liberty immunizes the general population from the tragic mistakes of its individual members. When two people exchange in bad faith, those two people alone suffer the consequences. Unless, of course, those two people just happen to be John Boehner and Barack Obama - then the innocent victims number in the hundreds of millions.

The idea itself is absurd; why should two men you have never met negotiate how much of your labor they will keep for their own purposes? They are niggling over the last half trillion as if the first $100 trillion of unfunded liabilities doesn’t matter. If Mr. Obama and Mr. Boehner would decide to quit stalling and take all of the nation's wealth, we would finally be equal.  That should make many people happy, as equality - not freedom - is the Progressive's perverted idea of justice.

Equality of outcome has a price, and that price is everything.

Hmmmmm...

Just to let you know - today I received my Fiscal Cliff Survival Pack from the White House. It contained a parachute, an 'Obama Hope & Change' bumper sticker, a 'Bush's Fault' poster, a 'Blame Boehner' poster, a 'Tax the Rich' poster, an application for unemployment, an application for food stamps, a prayer rug, a letter of assignation of debt to my grandchildren and a machine to blow smoke up my ass.  All directions were in Spanish.

The New Racial Derangement Syndrome
By Victor Davis Hanson (edited)
12/20/2012
There is a different sort of racialist derangement spreading in the country -- and it is getting ugly.

Here is actor Jamie Foxx joking recently about his new movie role: "I kill all the white people in the movie. How great is that?" Reverse white and black in the relevant ways and even a comedian would hear national outrage. Instead, his hip "Saturday Night Live" audience even gave Foxx applause.
Race-obsessed comedian Chris Rock tweeted on the Fourth of July, "Happy white peoples (sic) independence day ..."
Actor Samuel L. Jackson, in a recent interview, sounded about as unapologetically reactionary as you can get: "I voted for Barack because he was black. ... I hope Obama gets scary in the next four years."
No one in Hollywood used to be more admired than Morgan Freeman, who once lectured interviewers on the need to transcend race. Not now, in the new age of racial regression. Freeman has accused Obama critics and the Tea Party of being racists. He went on to editorialize on Obama's racial bloodlines: "Barack had a mama, and she was white -- very white, American, Kansas, middle of America... America's first black president hasn't arisen yet."
After the election, the Obama campaign asked its supporters to complete a survey that included a checklist with racial identifications -- with white omitted.
There is a growing danger in this latest round of racial tribalism. Stirring up the pot for short-term political gain in a multiracial society is abjectly insane. If the new racialism grows unchecked, it will eventually lead to cycles of backlash and counter-backlash -- and some day to something like the Balkans or Rwanda.
People are just people. But they can turn into veritable monsters when -- as a great American once warned -- they look to the color of our skin rather than the content of our character.

Detroit Is Socialism’s Logical Conclusion
  • In 1950, Detroit was the fifth largest city with over 1.8 million people.
  • Since then, the population has plummeted to just over 706,000 in 2011.
  • 560,000 are eligible to work (aged 16 and over).
  • Of the work-eligible residents, only 305,000 either work or are looking for work.
  • 257,000 don’t work and are not looking for work.
  • 224,000 Detroit residents do work.
  • Of those workers, 34,500 have government jobs.
  • The 190,000 workers that are left have private sector jobs.
  • 26.9% of its residents work in the private sector.
  • Out of 363,000 housing units, over 99,000 are vacant.
  • Of the 264,209 households in Detroit, only 24,275 — or 9.2 percent — are married couple families with children under 18.
  • 78,438 households — or 29.7 percent of the total — are ‘families’ headed by women with no husband present.
  • 75.4 percent of newborn babies — were born to unmarried women.
  • 34.5% of households in Detroit are on food stamps.
  • Detroit is America’s most violent city and has the highest homicide rate in the country.
  • Detroit has had a progressive democratic government for over 50 years.
  • Detroit voted overwhelming for Obama

A Marine questions Kerry

Subject: Kerry for Secretary of State? (Edited)
Questions for Kerry
Senator... please describe your famous Christmas Eve secret mission into Cambodia... which is very interesting since you weren't even in SE Asia during the Christmas time of
year?

Senator... is consorting with our nation's enemies part of your "Diplomatic Experience"... like North Vietnam while we were at war? The Sandinistas while we were engaged in conflict in Central America? The butcher Assad and Saddam Hussein in the Middle East? The Russians and Chinese when we were engaged in the Cold War?

Senator... would you explain to us how you recruited your fellow "Winter Soldiers"
to come and testify before Congress about atrocities committed by our
American soldiers and Marines... when most of the so-called witnesses you
recruited were never even in the military or had ever gone to Vietnam?

Senator... remind us why your citations for your Silver Stars were
signed by a Secretary of the Navy years and years after the war was
over? And also, is it true as charged by eyewitnesses that your Purple Hearts were
as a result of your own incompetence? Friendly fire by your own hand?

Senator... if you are so brilliant, why did you fail the Bar exam?

Senator... did you park your multimillion dollar yacht in Rhode Island to avoid taxes in your home state?

Senator... finally, why do the men who served with you in Vietnam universally hate your guts along with 99.9% of all Vietnam veterans and is it true that of all the men and women in the US Senate... you are known to be the most egotistical of them all.

"There are two ways to conquer and enslave a nation...
One is by sword... The other is by debt."
John Adams 1826

President Obama ordered the Cabinet to cut $100 million from the $3.5 trillion Federal budget.

I'm so impressed by this sacrifice that I have decided to do the same thing with my personal budget.  I spend about $2,000 a month on groceries, household expenses, medicine, utilities, etc., but I only make $1,000.00/month and I’m deep in debt and getting deeper.  It's time to get out the budget cutting axe, go through my expenses, and cut back.

I'm going to cut my spending at exactly the same ratio (1/35,000) of my total budget.  After doing the math, it looks like I'm going to have to cut that number by six cents. Yes, I'm going to have to get by with $1999.94, but that's what sacrifice is all about.  I'll just have to do without some things, that are frankly, luxuries – six cents worth.

Did this President actually think no one would do the math?  Did he not think we'd see how idiotic a $100 million cut is in a $3.5 trillion budget – ludicrous!!

Australian Gun Law Update
From: Ed  Chenel, A police officer in Australia

Hi Yanks, I  thought you all would like to see the real figures from Down Under.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new
law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own government, a program costing Australia  taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.

The first year results are now in:

Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent
Australia-wide, assaults are up 9.6 percent
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. (Note that
while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not and criminals still  possess their guns!)

While figures over the previous 25  years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with  firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past  12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that  their prey is unarmed. There has also been a dramatic  increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly, while  the resident is at home.

Australian politicians are  at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased,  after such monumental effort and expense was expended in  'successfully ridding Australian society of guns....'

You won't see this on the American evening news or hear  your governor or members of the State Assembly  disseminating this information.

The Australian experience speaks for itself. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes,  gun control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens.
Take note Americans, before it is too late!
Will you be one of the sheep to turn in your guns?
WHY?
You will need it.

The future has arrived!!!!

Imagine finding a necklace on the Internet that you just had to have and instead of having it delivered you simply downloaded software to your 3D printer and... voila... within minutes the necklace was ready to wear. Sound impossible? Actually 3D printing is considered by smart money people to be the wave of the future. Many claim it will be bigger than the Internet... the next Industrial Revolution. Are you skeptical? Consider this—in 2012 50,000 3D printers were sold for private use! Here's how it works.

...and finally

Here's another way to look at the debt ceiling:

Let's say, you come home from work and find
there has been a sewer backup in your neighborhood... and your home has sewage all the way up to your ceilings.

What do you think you should do?

Raise the ceilings, or remove the shit?

Ciao!
